A song that reminds me of a place is " Get up, Stand up".This song reminds me of when I was in my old school. The name of my old school is "Sisulu Walker Charter School". We sung that song when we did a play. We had to pratice alot. It was an esay song to sing.We had fun singing it.

African Burial Ground

My class and I went to a museum. The museum we went to is called "The African Burial Ground". We learned many things. These are some of the things we learned.

We learned about slavery. We also learned about slaves. Slaves arrived here in New york in 1626. Slaves were treated like objects. Slavery ended in 1827 in New york, also. Archaeologists found bones in 1991. 1712 to 1750, slaves were buried here in the African Burial Ground. Also, archaeologists found 419 bodies when building the African Burial Ground. Men slaves built roads and buildings. Also, they built the wall that wall street was named after. Women slaves cooked and cleaned. 40% of the slaves that died were children. 9% of the children that died were infants.

SO, now you know about slavery and slaves. Slavery was a harsh thing. Slavery was also cruel. Slavery was fun to learn about. But, it was sad to hear about.
